CURRICULUM
PLC Sydney Preschools are based on the highest quality teaching and learning standards. We are very proud of the nurturing and warm environment we’ve built, a backdrop we believe truly brings out the best in children. Developed around an inquiry-based program influenced by the Reggio Emilia method and the National Early Years Learning Framework, our curriculum is perfectly suited to the youngest of inquisitive minds.

NATURE IN ACTION
Our indoor and outdoor environment is intentionally designed and adapted to strengthen children’s natural curiosity and resourcefulness. Children will have the unique opportunity to see nature in action and learn about different invertebrate species by observing them in an enclosed invertebrate habitat in the preschool.

CREATIVE KIDS
Children have unlimited creative potential. They are curious, playful, imaginative, and open to new experiences. Creativity is not a fixed quantity, but a way of thinking, a renewable skill that can be improved and nurtured by allowing a child’s potential to develop.

EXPLORATION
Whether your child is finger painting, building a block castle, climbing or singing with other kids, PLC Sydney’s Preschool program will help your child increase their experiences, abilities, and knowledge. We incorporate social skills, science, pre-math and pre-literacy in the indoor and outdoor program.

ACTIVE PLAY
Be active every day! Active play experiences that are led by children allow them to discover what their body can do, they can be creative, and enjoy being energetic without adults leading them.

FRIENDSHIP & SOCIAL SKILLS
For children, making friends is a vital part of growing up and an essential part of their social and emotional development. At PLC Sydney Preschools we actively help your child navigate friendships and develop positive social skills, which in turn helps build their self-confidence.

MUSIC & DANCE
We all know that music and dancing are fun activities. Dancing, singing and making music are part of how a child learns what their bodies can do and how to interact with other people, objects and the world around them.
The Reggio Emilia Philosophy
The Reggio Emilia philosophy is an innovative and inspiring approach to early childhood education which values the child as strong, capable and resilient; rich with wonder and knowledge. Every child brings with them deep curiosity and potential and this innate curiosity drives their interest to understand their world and their place within it.
Originating in the northern Italian city of Reggio Emilia in the 1940s, the philosophy is widely renowned across Europe, the USA and here in Australia. It offers educators of young children a deeper perspective of ‘best teaching practice’, based on the belief that children learn through interaction with others, including parents, staff, peers and the environment.
