As a parent, it’s important to be armed with as much reliable information as possible. We have a number of policies in place to support the foundation of a quality Preschool education. They help guide our daily activities and decision making to promote the best outcomes possible for your child.
PLC Sydney Preschools is licensed by and under the supervision of the Department of Education and Communities. Please see a list of our key policies below.
PLC Sydney Preschools provide quality Preschool education for 3 to 5 year old children in a supportive, well resourced environment, utilising a play/inquiry based learning framework informed by the Early Years Learning Framework and the Reggio Emilia philosophy and methodology.
The safety, protection and well-being of all students is of fundamental importance to PLC Sydney Preschools. Both staff and the preschool have a range of different obligations relating to the safety, protection and welfare of its students as outlined in the policy.
This document outlines all the terms and conditions of enrolment that must be agreed to before your child can be enrolled at PLC Sydney Preschools.
We understand that parents make a huge investment in their children’s care and education. The PLC Preschool Fee Policy provides guidance about all the fees and payment requirements for families involved in the Preschools.
PLC Sydney Preschools is committed to a planned approach to the management of medical conditions to ensure the safety and well-being of all children at the preschool. Clear procedures support the enrolment of children and families with specific health care requirements.
The PLC Sydney Preschool requires personal information from families to provide appropriate and responsive care. We respect the importance of privacy and confidentiality as an individual right and a basis for building partnerships.
The PLC Sydney Preschool requires the highest standards of competency in regard to First Aid. First Aid can preserve life, prevent a condition from worsening and promote recovery. The capacity to provide prompt basic first aid is particularly important in the context of an early childhood service where staff have a duty of care to take positive steps towards maintaining the health and safety of each child.
PLC Sydney Preschools have policies and procedures (including documented records) that must be in place to effectively manage the event of any incident injury, trauma and illness that occurs in the service. Young children’s innate desire to explore and test their growing capabilities is essential in developing wellbeing.
The PLC Sydney Preschool is committed to identifying risks and hazards of emergency and evacuation situations, and planning for their reduction or minimisation, and ongoing review of planned actions around handling these situations.
PLC Sydney Preschools treats infectious diseases extremely seriously. The way that children interact with each other and with adults in education and care services means that diseases can quickly spread in a variety of ways. Whilst it is not possible to prevent the spread of all infections and diseases, minimising the risk is our priority.
PLC Sydney Preschool affirms that people have a right to question and influence decisions made and services provided. We take complaints seriously and manage them in a confidential, timely, transparent and meaningful way. We recognise that families, educators, other staff and the community need to feel confident that any concerns or issues they may raise will be handled promptly and professionally.
Our preschools are licensed to have children in care for defined operating hours. This policy also aims to ensure that both staff and families understand and follow the correct procedure for the late collection of children.
